-AUSTRALIA-
Australia was my first trip outside of Europe and therefore my first time experiencing another continent.
I arrived on a working holiday visa but soon wanted to move aimlessly around, exploring the country and it`s different climates as much as possible.

-RECOMMENDATIONS-
Accommodation
You’re generally better off spending your nights in a DIY camper-van rather than digging deep for hostel accommodation. Australian hostels can attract the worst breed of traveller; tend to overcharge and be largely package tourism orientated. They are known to charge for wi-fi, try not to feed them too much.
Blue Mountain Backpacker Hostel – Katoomba, New South Wales.
Tranquil during the Winter. Free laundry services.
-Watch : A Winter Fire in Katoomba
Valley Verandas – Spring Hill, Brisbane, Queensland – work for accommodation.
Asylum – Cairns, Queensland – family run, weekly charity event, work for accommodation or $14 (cheapest hostel stayed at in Australia).
Couchsurfing in Australia.
-
Restaurants
Lentil As Anything – Abbotsford Convent, Melbourne – multi-cultural vegan food, community volunteer run, free/donation.
-
Transport
Australia’s inland roads offer pleasant variety from popular coastal highway routes. The most developed roads in Australia will be the fastest and cheapest way to get from one destination to another but you will miss so much in between. Some of the most interesting experiences in Australia are those tucked away in a town you have never heard of.

Charity
Josephine’s Gallery & Kangaroo Orphanage – Coober Pedy, donation.
